JAMES E. ROCKWELL
Practice Owner | General Dentistry
For over 30 years, Dr. Rockwell has been serving The Smile Center of NJ with four locations in South Jersey. Dr. Rockwell received his dental degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ in 1990. He has the distinction of being voted 'Best Dentist in Burlington County' for 10 consecutive years. He has been recognized as one of the 'Leading Physicians of the World.' Dr. Rockwell specializes in implants and bridge work, though a number of comprehensive dental services including Clear Correct, Same Day Crowns, and cosmetic dentistry are offered at the practice. He is proud to treat his patients like family and is not afraid to take a chance on new business development techniques. In his free time, Dr. Rockwell enjoys traveling with his family, attending football games, playing golf at Old York Country Club, and is an accomplished leading competitor in the National Pool League. He is well known for giving back to the community as a leading local provider for Give Kids A Smile Day for the last five years, donating over $50,000 in dental services to underprivileged local children. Dr. Rockwell also developed a scholarship program with The Dewey Foundation in honor of his late, beloved mother to provide a scholarship to a Northern Burlington student of a low income, single parent, as she was. The Dewey Rockwell Memorial Foundation also assists several local families in need during the holidays.

Dr. Tanvi Patel graduated from Rutgers University with a major in biological sciences from NewBrunswick, New Jersey. After obtaining her undergrad degree, she went on to get her Masters inBiomedical Science from Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Newark where sheparticipated in Lyme disease research. She then moved to Charleston, South Carolina to receiveher DMD from Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Patel prides in providing excellentcomprehensive dental treatment with the utmost care for her patients. She enjoys all aspects ofgeneral dentistry and is committed to keeping up with the latest technology and procedures indentistry through continuing education courses. In her spare time, Dr. Patel enjoys traveling,most outdoor activities, trying different cuisines and spending time with her family.

Dr. Richards attained her undergraduate degree from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. After graduating Temple with a degree in Biology and a minor in marketing, Dr. Richards entered The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey where she attained her D.M.D as well as her General Practice Residency training in 2010-2011. During her tenure she held multiple leadership roles in various student organizations. She was the Vice President of the Student National Dental Association as well as the lead student advisor of the Dental Gateway program. Dr. Richards has a passion for all things creative both within and outside of dentistry. She is a DIYer who has a knack for interior design, baking and cake decorating. Dr. Richards has secretively has a major sweet tooth ...or 32. Although she has an affinity for all things sweet, she stresses the importance of excellent oral hygiene by reminding us that it's not what you eat but what you do after that counts.

Dr. Nicole Rakhnayev is originally from Boston, Massachusetts. She obtained her Bachelors in Biology from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. Prior to obtaining her doctorate, she worked as a dental assistant and office manager. She was able to learn different aspects of dentistry which helped her gain a solid foundation, giving her an edge in dental school. Dr. Nicole obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of New England in Portland, Maine. During her time there, she was heavily involved in community service where she coordinated multiple oral health outreach programs and led one of the largest donation drives in the Greater Portland region. She then completed an externship at a private practice and a nonprofit clinic in the Champlain Valley of Vermont improving the access to care. She is Invisalign certified and continues to take courses to expand her knowledge in order to provide comprehensive care specific to each patient. Dr. Nicole is a member of the American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. Outside the office, Dr. Nicole’s biggest passion is traveling. She has already visited every state on the east and west coast and recently completed a road trip across the country. Her goal is to visit every National Park and State in the USA; she has already visited 11 parks and 26 states!

Dr. Angela Gatto-Rekant is originally from the NYC area. There she graduated from NYU College of Dentistry in 1994. Dr. Gatto-Rekant was accepted into NYU’s Fixed Prosthetic Honors and Clinical Honors programs. After graduation Dr. Gatto-Rekant completed a general practice Residency at the Manhattan VA hospital, where she trained in all aspects of dentistry with a focus on Crown and Bridge and Dentures also working with medically compromised patients. She was in private practice in Manhattan, NY and Clifton, NJ before joining The Smile Center of Mount Holly in 2004. Dr. Gatto-Rekant enjoys seeing patients of all age group and provides comprehensive dental work. She is also trained in providing “one visit” high strength ceramic crowns designed and fabricated in our office. She has extensive experience in Fixed Bridges, Implants and Dentures. In her free time, Dr. Gatto-Rekant enjoys traveling, skiing, golf and scuba diving.

Dr. Charles Hudak, D.M.D. holds two principles in highest regard— genuine compassion for patients and providing the highest quality of care. Along with these principles, he believes in keeping current with the most modern dental technology available. Since becoming a dentist 19 years ago he has achieved an extensive following of loyal and trusting patients. His patients love his motto which is simply “no pain.” Dr. Hudak has an extensive dental education and background with many achievements. He started his career in 1998 with a degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine from Temple University School of Dentistry. His achievements include: The First Place Clinical Achievement Award, Induction into The Leon S. Brenner Award for Proficiency in Operative Dentistry, The Dr. Benjamin D. Homer Award, The Stomatognathic Honor Society, The Oral Surgery Honor Society, The Periodontology Honor Society, and the Esthetic Dentistry Honor Society. In addition, Dr. Hudak completed a post-doctoral degree in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Temple University. In his personal life, Dr. Hudak enjoys a variety of activities, including spending time with his wife and eight children at their home in Ocean City, attending church and participating in a variety of sports activities.

Dr. Basim El-Toukhy attended New Jersey Institute of Technology where he obtained a Bachelors in Biomedical Engineering and went on to receive his Masters in Biomedical Sciences from UMDNJ. While obtaining his masters, he worked in management at Six Flags Great Adventure as their Construction & Maintenance Supervisor, overseeing the construction and rehab of the rides
Dr. Basim completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of New England in Portland, Maine where he received an outstanding clinical education. He was involved in various leadership positions such as VP of the American Association of Dental Research and a member of the Academic Affairs Committee. He then completed an externship at various dental offices in the Champlain Valley of Vermont addressing the need for access and quality of care. Dr. Basim is excited to provide quality dental care in Central and South Jersey ranging from Invisalign to all aspects of general dentistry. Every patient should feel comfortable and relaxed at the dentist and Dr. Basim strives to go above and beyond for his patients in order for them to feel like family. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, New Jersey Dental Association, and American Dental Education Association. When not in the office, you can find Dr. Basim planning his next getaway vacation, visiting amusement parks, hiking, and playing sports. Dr. Duy Do obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Harvard University in 2012. After dental school, he finished one year of General Practice Residency and one year of Advance Education in General Dentistry where he received formal training in implant placement and restoration, periodontal surgery, non-surgical endodontics, esthetic dentistry using CAD/ CAM technology. After residencies, Dr. Do worked as general dentist for 3 years in Iowa before discovering his true passion for the field of endodontics. Dr. Do subsequently completed his endodontic training at Columbia University in 2020. In his spare time, Dr. Do enjoys running, drawing, visiting the newest restaurants, and travelling to Europe with his friends and family.
